Insuring your car

Most forms of insurance offered are voluntary, but a few are required by law. Cover to protect other people and property (including their vehicles) against accident or damage while driving a motorized vehicle is one of them.

This law applies to all forms of motor vehicle - mopeds, motorcycles, private and company cars, and heave vehicles. It means that it is absolutely forbidden to drive a car without valid minimum insurance.

Just ask the Personnel or the Payroll Department at your company and, if they already have a scheme, they will give you the relevant forms.  HM Revenue & Customs’ website has a list of Payroll Giving agencies and explains payroll giving in more detail.
